Description

Being prepared can save your life. In our recent history, we have seen too many active shooter situations: in the workplace, in malls, at schools, in our neighborhoods, at airports, and the list goes on.

In this interactive session, we will discuss safety in and around the workplace, considerations when faced with the unexpected, as well as resources to continue your learning. This training is for DBHIDS staff only, and we plan to offer another for our providers.

Leading us through this training is Detective Joseph Rovnan, a 27-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department. He has been involved in the active shooter program for several years and is considered a subject matter expert in this field.

At the conclusion of the training, participants should be able to:

1. Describe strategies to increase situational awareness

2. Explain various communications used during emergencies

3. Identify strategies for preventing, preparing for, and responding to any situation

This training is a happening during National Preparedness Month. Together we prepare!
